As a former English teacher, there's a gap in my life that I'd never really been able to do anything to fill until I joined the Flame. Being in a position where I can contribute to something like this community- where people are working hard to improve themselves, grow, and engage in healthy, intelligent debate is deeply important to me. It fills an inherent, elemental need within me to put people in a position where they're challenged to think, grow, and reach their fullest potential. Being the maintainer of this community has helped me overcome depression and has given me a strong feeling of fulfillment and self-worth.
Moreover, I do this because I LIKE the people in this community. I've taken the time to get to know as many members as I possibly can, and I can honestly say that there's not a single member in this community towards whom I harbor negative feelings. If I can do something to help the community, I feel happy and privileged to do so.
