Brigits_Flame Quarterly Award Nominations

The NOMinations are a special set of awards we give out about 2-3 times each year to a select group of very special community-chosen members. There are so many caring, friendly people in this community; this is just a small way to thank them for all they do for us all. There's no prize, but the member's name are listed in the community profile forever, and I send a little note and virtual gift to every winner as a personal token of our appreciation.

Historically, NOMinations are done with a little bit of silliness in mind. NOMinations include their own set of community artwork, including banners, icons, and special images created for each post. NOM is capitalized to reflect the image motif of excessive, awkward, or hilarious eating scenarios.

The NOMinations include the following Member-Chosen awards:

Best Editor:

Our editors are one of the biggest reasons that the Flame is such a great place. Their tireless efforts and thoughtful commments have kept us growing and learning. Since the community has started, we've edited literally thousands of entries, and the team is still going strong! That's a real accomplishment! This award is to help recognize our editors for the amazing people they are. Take some time to put your two cents in about your favorite one!

Best Feedback:

A overall sense of support, growth, and thoughtfulness is part of what defines brigits_flame. And when we post our entries, we often sit back and nervously await the first comment. The best feedback award is for the member that always seems to step in just when they're wished for most to add that thoughtful and meaningful comment that lets you know that people are reading your entry and giving it some real consideration. This is your chance to return the favor and let them know that their efforts are recognized and appreciated.

Member's Choice:

There's a ton to do on the Flame! Between the main monthly contest, the mini contest, the editing, the cheer squad, the daily chatter posts, the community artwork, member feedback, and all the random cries for help I make, it seems like there's always something going on. However, with all that's happening, it seems like there's a few members that are there at every turn, being positive, helpful, and just enjoying the community in general. This award covers both the member's performance as a writer, their contributions to the community, and their continued good attitude and support. Who here has really made the special effort to bring brigits_flame to a good place?

Most Improved

Which writer have you seen improve in leaps and bounds since they started in the Flame? This NOMination is to help recognize the good work someone is doing. Even if they started out as a fantastic writer and just honed their skills in ways that really struck you, this award is here for you to give that editorial shout out!

Since there's so many people here doing so much, a round of NOMinations are run for each member, and then all nominees are voted for in a members-only poll

Suggestions for NOMinees are written in 150 words or less and cover the following:

1. The award you'd like to nominate the person for
2. The username of the person who would receive the award and any alternative usernames they might be known under.
3. Why you feel that this person is the best choice for the nomination, including what they've done in the past, how they've done it, and why you feel that was admirable.
4. (Optional) Any personal notes about the member.
5. (Optional) Any links to examples that you'd like to include to support your NOM.

Once you nominate someone, that person needs a second and a third on the nominations to qualify to compete in the poll.

Other Notes

* Because moderators are in the forefront of the community and have an unfair advantage thereof, they can't qualify for a nomination for Member's Choice.

* Members are free to nominate as many people as they'd like.

* Members are invited to "second the nomination" and "third the nomination" of as many people as they'd like.

* Members cannot nominate themselves.
