NOMinations Results: November 2009

Best Editor
Toxic_Apiaceae
Runner-Up: Awkward_OstrichMan, do I ever hear those results. Toxic has been an absolute lifesaver for weeks and weeks- we've been crazy lucky to have her with us. She's picked up extra edits, volunteered for extra-long edits, offered moral support, picked up edits others couldn't do at the last minute, and has generally been everywhere at once, with fantastic edits each time. Way to go, my friend!
And perhaps less immediately in our memory but just as strong a contributor as Toxic these last few months is our wonderful Dani, awkward_ostrich. She took on the editing post for months at a time, and when she's not running the ship, she's been one of our best editors for well over a year. She's modest and sometimes quiet, but she's been a backbone presence here that we couldn't have done without. Thank you, Miss Dani!
Best Feedback
Cedarwolfsinger
Runners Up: Rephen, KatdenHonorable Mention: Thorarosebird
Cedar's hard to beat, guys. :-) With a double NOM in our previous NOMinations in both "Best Feedback" and "Member's Choice" and her honorary "Den Mother" title, she's been here since the community's roots, offering her help as an editor and ROAR member, while spreading her good company through feedback and support on entries, chatter posts, and in NaNoInFlames.
However, our classic Katden and our wonderful new members Rephen and Thorarosebird have definitely given her a run for her title! You guys have been absolutely everywhere- I can hardly hit an entry withou one of you spreading cheer, thoughtfulness, and constricutive criticism to help us grow as writers. You all rock, guys, and we love you!
Member's Choice
WE HAVE A TIE! CONGRATS TO: Katden and Awkward_Ostrich!
If there are two members that define the flame, from its inner workings to its philosophy, it's these two. They've been such a huge part of the spirit of the community- helping out with community projects, running mini contests, helping with the editing post, doing the community spotlight, and a million other things, both big and small. And they've been here in all the important little ways as well- enjoying the community though the chatter posts, enjoying the community chat room, reading entries, voting every week, and bringing their enormous hearts and sharing them in everything they do.
It's hard to mention both of these people without getting personal. They've both become very good friends of mine, and I care for them both. Kathy (Katden) calls me to check on Flame-related things and to remind me of things, and I've met Dani (Awkward_Ostrich) several times. Their personal friendship, advisement, and moral support in all things has been unbelievable, especially in times when my personal problems with depression have been stronger. Their caring and support has really helped me through some dark times. They're all heart, and truly good people, and I'm glad to see that so many of you share my feelings in this.
Most Improved
Rephen
The Flame has always been just as much a sort of online writing workship as it has been a contest, and we're all making great steps to improve ourselves along the way. However, the hardest challenge is competing against yourself- and Rephen, you've quite won in that category. ;-)
So is it his art or his writing that's improved? :-) Both, I'd say- I absolutely love everything he comes up with, especially the storyboard for his "Guns" entry. Reph, I fall in love with your art more and more with every entry, and your approaches to your stories only get richer, more original, and more powerful. Way to go, sir!
Be on the lookout for the next round of NOMinations around March!
