Best Editor
Azuire
Runner-Up: Toxic_ApiaceaeI, for one, was watching this race intently. Tox was in the lead on more than one occasion, but Azuire ultimately pulled through to take the crown. There is really no comparing these two outstanding editors. Their mighty red pens have proven thorough and meticulous, ensuring our authors are not left struggling with any grammatical errors or awkward phrases.
Azu in particular dove quickly into the community, editing chops at the ready. Sometimes taking double the number of edits of everyone else, she also began correcting grammar within comments and entries, making sure no mistake was made with the delicate creature that is the English language. It is as though editing is not a task for Azuire -- it is a way of life. This award is surely well deserved.
Best Feedback
Raphaelish
Runners Up: Vyvyan_Wilde, KeppiehedThis race, too, was extremely close. All three of our nominees were in the lead at some point, and on more than one occasion I checked in to see it was tied three-ways. It is with enthusiastic congratulations that we recognize the efforts of all nominees in this category.
Ultimately, Raph pulled ahead to come out on top. Unhesitant to sing praises, Raph will happily inform you just when you've tripped over a bit of genius, and will just as happily lend a hand if you've tripped over something ... else. Encouraging, kind, and approachable, Raph is a wonderful resource when you're uncertain of a piece. It is with pleasure that I announce him as the winner of this award.
Member's Choice
Thorarosebird
Runner Up: AzuireThora seems to do it all. Skipping between editing, leaving feedback, hovering in chatter posts and Flamechat, and writing week after week, she's a strong and enthusiastic member in almost every facet of this community. She's also always looking out for the interests of the community, offering suggestions for its improvement, which are always astute and well thought out.
There's no way I can write this without getting somewhat personal. I find myself frequently noting an increase in mood after speaking with Thora. Maybe it's the cupcakes ... or maybe it's that she's 30.7% goddess of thunder. But there's no doubt that something about this woman makes the world -- and especially this community -- generally brighter. She is a delight all-around and a lovely soul to work with and to converse with. It is with great honour that I announce Thora as Member's Choice.
Most Improved
Vyvyan_Wilde
Runners Up: Keppiehed, So_WordyWatching the confidence grow in these writers over the past months has been both fascinating and wonderful. Initially a bit shy, Vyv's become strong with the written word and strives to improve with each entry he submits.
Among Vyv's most notable traits as a writer is his penchant for experimentation. Unafraid to try out new styles and see which ones work for him, he's consistently been able to apply each experiment to improve how he approaches the written word. The results have proven his experimental approach successful. I happily present to you our most improved writer of the first half of 2010: Vyv.
Be on the lookout for the next round of NOMinations around October!
